THE TRANSITION YEARS
Growing up at your own pace.
These guides explore ages 11–20 through all four Shields. These age ranges are a way to organize guidance, not deadlines or a test of maturity.
First changes. Room to explore.
New interests, stronger feelings, and a growing wish for independence can arrive together. You do not have to decide who you will be for the rest of your life. Start with manageable responsibilities and adults who listen.
Explore AGES 14–16More freedom. More to navigate.
Friendships, identity, school pressure, and the wish to make your own decisions become more prominent. You need room to try things and a clear structure that helps you learn from the outcome.
Explore AGES 17–20Your direction. Your next step.
Work, training, study, relationships, and life beyond home bring choices with more weight. You do not need a perfect plan. Practice making decisions you can own, staying connected, and building useful routines.
ExploreThe website and the app have different age ranges.
