This policy covers the Transition to Adulthood website. The separate Adulthood app has its own privacy information.

2. Overview

You can read all content without an account. This website contains no analytics or advertising trackers, contact forms, embedded videos, or remotely loaded fonts. Images, any fonts, styles and scripts are delivered through the same hosting service. Your entries are not analyzed by AI. There is no profiling or automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Hosting and technical requests

The host is Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. Requests involve IP address, time, URL, HTTP status, browser/device details and potentially referrer. Processing supports delivery, stability, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website.

Hosting processing follows Netlify’s Data Processing Agreement. Processing may occur in the US and other countries. Contractual safeguards include standard contractual clauses. Netlify also describes its EU-US Data Privacy Framework participation in its privacy notice.

Technical records are retained only as necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting and legal obligations. Retention depends on purpose, security incidents and applicable requirements. We maintain no additional visitor database.

4. Website and app

This website provides topic introductions and one free example. It has no personal reflection inputs and stores no new journal, progress or reflection data in your browser. The complete guides and personal tools belong to the separate Adulthood app, which has its own privacy information.

If you explicitly saved text in an earlier version of this website, those entries may remain in your browser’s website data. The current website code does not read or transmit them. Remove them by clearing this website’s data in browser settings. They are not automatically transferred to the app. Previously downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them.

5. Cookies and local storage

The website code sets no cookies and uses no analytics, marketing or other local storage functions. Technical hosting data are described in section 3; section 4 explains entries you may have saved in an earlier version.

6. Email and telephone contact

If you contact us, we process the contact details and message you provide to answer your inquiry. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies to contractual or pre-contractual inquiries; otherwise Article 6(1)(f) applies to our legitimate interest in responding. Recipients may include the email and telecommunications providers used to communicate.

Correspondence is deleted after the inquiry is resolved unless legal retention duties or legitimate needs to establish or defend claims require longer storage. In that case retention is limited to the necessary period. Providing details is voluntary, but without sufficient contact information we may be unable to reply. Please do not send confidential reflections or health information by unencrypted email.

7. External links

The site uses ordinary links, including to the English and German book editions on Amazon. Your browser contacts an external service when you follow its link; that provider’s privacy notice then applies. We receive no payment or account data from purchases there. These Amazon links contain no affiliate identifier.

8. Your rights

Subject to the legal conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), correction (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18) and portability (Article 20). You may withdraw consent with future effect; this does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Objection: Where processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object for reasons relating to your particular situation (Article 21). Processing will stop unless compelling legitimate grounds or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims justify continuing. Contact us using the details above.

You may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. The authority for private providers in Bavaria is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
